Driving force

„Why am I still working in media production?

To be honest, I don’t really know either. Because in the film and television industry there is a lot of trouble. And especially in the genre  documentary. My good sense has been saying for years now, leave this industry. The stupid heart says it’s the people and every single story which is worth telling. A statement from a dear colleague in our documentary ON THIS DAY, which impressed me so much:

How different normal can be!

And that is exactly what our work is all about.

It’s about telling stories, not content, it’s about people. I love using and experimenting with different image – and lighting techniques, but for me the usage of it is not telling the story. It is only supporting it. The technology is adapted to it and subordinates itself, it supplements and at the same time supports its message, its content.

The story is in the focus, without it there would be no film. Every single story is worth telling, mostly.

The famous „storytelling“ is the driving force behind my work. Sometimes in cinematography, sometimes in post-production and also in preproduction: Depending on the film project!  Former lecturers of mine once said: Movies are magic!

They were and are right. It sounds naive, but why do we watch movies and series? We immerse ourselves in new worlds and these influence our view, our perspective, stimulate thought, gives us an impulse and sometimes even prompt us to act.

It’s the moments, the encounters, the people – that enrich my life.

Because it is precisely these close and interpersonal encounters in the whole world that change my view and show new perspectives. And add and support my work behind the camera and expand my audiovisual horizons.

That’s why I’m still on board and continue to produce audiovisual stories together with the Liquid filmproduction company to enrich and to surprise ourselves and the others.
